Originally, the home featured an outdated fireplace positioned in an inconvenient location within the space.
Dan and his team began by carefully removing the existing outdated gas fireplace and associated gas lines. They meticulously dismantled the surrounding brickwork, ensuring that the bricks remained undamaged for future reuse — an essential step in preserving the home’s original character.
Following the relocation and installation of the new fireplace and gas lines, the team undertook the intricate task of reassembling the original brickwork.
This process requires exceptional skill and precision, as the aged bricks cannot be altered or cut and must be carefully replaced by hand.
With the fireplace successfully installed and restored, the team shifted focus to enhancing the room’s natural light.
The existing glass area, centered by a traditional standard and by all accounts average glass sliding door, was transformed into a striking 12-foot wall of glass featuring two centered sliding doors. This significant upgrade involved precise structural modifications and meticulous attention to detail to ensure both safety and aesthetics.
The result is a complete transformation of what was once a poorly designed, dark, and uninspiring room.
The addition of the expansive glass wall floods the space with natural light, while the beautifully reworked gas fireplace adds warmth and character, creating an inviting and elegant living area.
